I will pledge my life away from me
But tell me something first
Where does the sea go to calm itself?
What does water drink when it suffers thirst?
...

A distant song, more like lamented echoes
Cries stricken tales of love, of hunger and woes,
The phoenix breathes his last dejected breath
He stands still now, surrenders to death.
...

Planned reactions
Obtuse actions
Dried tears
Devouring fears

Lay me on a bed of dreams, sweet love

The lightness and weight of my obscure truth

A Question

I will pledge my life away from me
But tell me something first
Where does the sea go to calm itself?
What does water drink when it suffers thirst?

I promise I will try and look beyond
All my life's mundane desires and quests
But tell me after a long, hard day
In whose shade does a tree rest?

I will learn to be an honourable man
Whose praise the highest thoughts adorn
But like water escapes from the smallest fissure
From time to time, I feel tired and worn

So where does fire go when it seeks warmth?
And the sun, when the sky is grey?
Where does a messiah find a friend?
Tell me, to whom does God pray?
