Frequently Asked Questions
Membership and Signing up
Why do I need an account?
You need an account to take full advantage of all the site has to offer. To read other content, you don't need an account. However, to create and rate content, add users to your Friends list, message other users, leave comments, etc., you need to be a logged in, registered user.
How can I sign up for membership to PoemHunter.Com?
Please click here for signing up for membership to our site. When you enter this page, you can sign up within a few minutes by entering your name and e-mail address
What's required for a new account? Is an e-mail address necessary to sign up for membership?
You must be 13 or older to join Poemhunter. Other than that, the only thing that's required is to have a valid and operational e-mail address. Once you fill out the membership form, your member password will be sent to the e-mail address you specified.
Do I need to give you my real e-mail address?
Yes. You cannot activate your account and begin using the site until your e-mail address is verified. It's important that your e-mail address is always up-to-date and correct in case we need to contact you.
During registration process do i have to enter my personal information like my birth date, gender or where i live?
When one of our members registers, we only ask for Name, Surname, E-mail address and Country information. The password of the member is generated automatically by the system and sent to his/her e-mail address. The member, by entering the password sent to his/her e-mail in the Member Login box on the main page (and on certain other pages) , enters the system. When the member enters the system for the first time, we require the information of City, Date of Birth and Sex. Once this information is entered, the process of 'member registration' is completed.
I signed up for membership but I still have not received my password in my e-mail account
A password is sent to you when you fill out the membership form. You sign in to the system with this password and (if you wish) change it to another password that you can remember easier.
Under normal conditions, your membership password reaches your e-mail account within a few minutes. But in some situations the transmission of the e-mail can be delayed. For example, if you misspell your e-mail address, if you have a temporary problem with your e-mail account, if there is a technical problem in the internet lines at that time, your password may not reach you or may be delayed.
How can I change my membership e-mail address?
You can change your membership e-mail address by simply entering the member area – my profile tab.
Once you change your e-mail address, the system also changes your password and sends your new password to your NEW e-mail address. It does this to make sure that your new e-mail address is valid and operational.
When you change your e-mail address, please check your inbox as soon as possible and obtain your new membership password.
When you enter this page, write your NEW e-mail, not the OLD one.
While changing my e-mail address, if I write a wrong new e-mail address, what happens?
In the modifying e-mail address page, you are asked to write your e-mail address twice. This is a precaution to prevent entering a wrong adress.
If you have written your e-mail address wrong while changing it, you cannot sign in to the system again. In this case please contact us. Send us a message explaining the situation. Please include the other information that you provided when you signed up for membership.
What do I do if I forget my password?
