In Love With Rome

Rome is a city of the past
Of things seen and heard and long gone.
Rome is a city of joy
Which stands strong today and lives on. It is like a monument to man
Who has built this beauty alone,
Has carved and hewn from stone
Has decorated, painted and enshrined
History with his own hand and mind. How can so much celebration
Exist as it does in Rome?
Such perfect adoration
Such earthly joy in Creation
It is here and here alone.
