Looking around I feel a sorrow

A homeless girl stands alone at the end of the street,
Flogging 'The Big Issue' so that she can eat.
Her eloquent eyes are so easy to read,
She doesn't want pity, your cash is all she'll need

This material world has got so damn greedy,
No time for the old, no time for the needy
Compassion and spirit are both crushed.
Everybodys hurried, everybody's rushed.

A grey haired man in his golden years,
lacking in pennies but not in beers
Strums his guitar as he sings with pride.
in a state of 'worse for wear' he really can't hide.

But it's all too easy to point the finger
It's our so called leader's that let such poverty linger
Money makes the world go round, and THEIR pockets are full
Lounging in their chairs making our decisions, promising a load of....
