Ultimatum

Do you remember when
in one October
we met for a cup of coffee and
took a walk
on the beach?
The sea glistened with sunshine golden yellow;
The bamboo trees you admired
smiled letting the leaves brush on
as we passed by.
You too caressed my shoulder
With a flicker of smile on your lips
Crushing my heart.
At first I was oblivious
of you walking with me discreetly,
Until I felt the thorns turn to velvet
And my path was strewn with petals of glorious joy.
I remember well that you teased
the way I catch onto things late
my sense of direction
my cooking…
May be your memories are better than you,
They don’t desert me even for a while,
With me they rejoice, with me they lament!
