Gabrielle Tastet Poems

I never thought you could mean this much to me
Enough to rip me apart inside out
Heartless.
Thoughtless.
...

Not this again,
The familiar sensation of pain creeps in
My mind
Again

Death is a one way ticket to your destination
Death lurks over people waiting to cut their life strings
Death is a pain pill that never quits working
Death will leave people behind in a huge cloud of dust

Went for a jog just the other day,
Had to clear my head.
I was jogging,
Then I noticed I was running
...

A tree grows,
From my hopes,
My dreams,
My wishes.
...

The separation between us
Splices my ribcage in a passion
Preening my pathetic heart
To your world deceit and teasing
...

Walked into class,
And you weren’t there.
A little bird came to me on my shoulder
And whispered in my ear.

8.

I want to be that girl.
The one that when I walk in the room,
Your eyes just gravitate towards me.
I don’t need that from every guy,
...

Gorgeous, fallen angel.
Perfect. Flawless face. Body of a God.
Immortal. Immoral. Intoxicating.
Black wings stretch across the sky.

Emergency.
Quick doctor, can’t wait.
She was dead. She isn’t now.
Doctor what’s the trouble? Oh no, not you too!

Goldfish, so small
Yet not free
Always stuck in the container
Waiting to start a new life

Nameless.
Skin eroding.
Walk along the road.

The moment you realize
Is so unreal,
When the darkness comes over you
And you forget

Love may be discovered
After lust was blown away
He loves you, they say,
Will you ever know for sure

At first there was just you, then me
Growing up blissfully unaware of each other’s existence
Then we met.
Forces colliding like two trains so different then so alike

It is how the day goes by.
The day is new it is time to go,
But something is different. Why?

Trust.
So easily lost,
Like a small child in Disney,
Trust could bolt at any time.

Monster. monster in the mirror,
Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything clearer.
You liar.
You cheater.

In my room,
It's late.
Very late.
Or is the clock just ahead?

Monday night.
Entire nation watching,
With our boys on the field.
Dirty Birds so close.

Gabrielle Tastet Biography

My poems are written from the heart, therefore, while they are here to share, approval is not the goal. The goal is just to stay true to herself and her style of writing, Even if I am the only one to see the beauty of it. I wish I could dedicate the works as a whole however, they are just not suited for that. That all being said, I still hope you will enjoy them. I am open to questions and suggestions if you so much as wish to lend them.)

First Love's Heartbreak

I never thought you could mean this much to me
Enough to rip me apart inside out
Heartless.
Thoughtless.
No…
Just clueless
You just forget the things you said. I said.
I meant them.
The gaze of lust you had, I misconstrued for love.
“Forgive me? ” You say.
Don’t be sorry, your feelings are involuntary as are mine.
For so long I thought there was a chance.
Then with my admittance, the possibility died.
The flame,
Still alive in my heart,
Set fire to the rest of my body.
I shot up in flames.
I died that day.

Then you send me a message, “Let’s hang out.”
I say yes, but it was only as friends.
My charred heart can take no more.
Then James.
James saved me with friendship.
He loves me.
Why don’t you?
