The Endless Night

In the darkness of the night
I feel the breeze, the cold wind's might
I hear the owls amongst the trees
Feel the aching in my knees

As I walk I think of light
Not of cold, bone-chilling fright
I long for warmth and caring touch
Not of death and sorrow and such

I long for day, and the sun's warm embrace
Not this cold dark empty place
I keep on struggling through the night
The shadows flickering in the pale moon light

Furthermore the night drags on
There is no day it is all gone
Nothing could possibly make this worse
What will end this soul-depressing curse

So on and on and on I'll go
Pacing through this bone-white snow
Cursed to always be alone
Never to have a place to call home
