    Greetings, fellow poets!

My name is Chantelle Ribeiro. I reside in South Africa and am half Portuguese.

My father was my hero. I inherited all his talents. He was a very accomplished musician and passed away in 1998. That is when my whole world changed and I woke up realizing it was time to go in search of my destiny...

Since I can remember I have written down my thoughts, even as a child... I guess it kept me sane... I have written many poems over the years, but never thought at the time of sharing them with anyone... My life was not easy growing up, but writing seemed to balance it out for me. I also am an artist / painter and my other talents are playing the guitar, singing and dancing. I love how I can write a poem in 5 minutes at times and later when I read it think - wow, where did that come from? I do not use complicated words and I believe in writing about human emotions, things that are real and helping others through my experiences or the experiences of others around me... I hope your will find my poetry both inspiring and sort of feel like I am someone, a complete stranger that simply 'gets' you in times when you might need some good advice. I have a gift and I wish to share it with the world... I have this talent I believe that will hopefully make people who have come to the end of their rope believe that they are not alone... I have a gift to change your life if you'd let me... I sincerely hope you will enjoy my writing and keep in contact with me throughout my journey... For I might be considered 'old' by some of you, being 41 and all, but believe me when I say I am only now finding myself, realizing I do matter and that what I say in my poems is MY truth... Enjoy

    Kind Regards
    Chantelle Ribeiro

hi every one my name is noel potter, , i go by junior, i began writing poetry in 1995 while serving time in the Indiana department of corrections, i was given five years on lock up, , 'solitary confinement' i laid around for several weeks trying to figure out how to make the days easier and go faster and i decided that a journal of my time would be the best way other than reading and one day i read a book of poems and it inspired me to try to write myself and since then i have written over five thousand poems about my life inside prison fr a decade, and the changes i made also inspired more poetry which sooner or later alot of my writings will be posted here for you to read and i pray that from my writings you will gain from them, , thank you, ,

Hey guys, I am 23 and haven't been here in a looong time but I am back now. I posted a few poems yesterday and would love to hear your opinions. http: //www.poemhunter.com/isunge-mwangase/ Here is one of them. 'My Heart Crashed With The
    Loudest Din'

    My heart crashed with the
    loudest din,
Loving you is the greatest sin,
Because the wages of it is my
    death,
You made my soul leave the
    earth,
Only now I see the stage clear,
Your heart has always been its
    bier,
I crack with such a pain,
Like a land that has never
    had rain,
But I will go without a fight
    For your happiness is my
    might.

Although I write poem established poetss occasionaly, my main interest is photography. However, I often put as text on my photos poems I've written, which I call 'poempics.' I would like to put a few poems on this site as it is a wonderful forum for both established poets and unpublished writers such as myself.
