    Three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Arts & Letters Journal of Contemporary Culture are given annually for a group of poems, a short story, and an essay. Beth Gylys will judge in poetry, Jayne Anne Phillips will judge in fiction, and Bret Lott will judge in creative nonfiction. Submit up to eight pages of poetry or 25 pages of prose with a $15 entry fee ($17 for electronic submissions) , which includes a subscription to Arts & Letters Journal of Contemporary Culture, by March 24.     Minnesota Emerging Writers' Grants

    Grants of up to $10,000 are given annually to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers who have lived in the state of Minnesota for at least one year. Writers who have published no more than two books in any genre are eligible to apply. Using the online submission system, submit three copies of 15 to 20 pages of poetry or 20 to 30 pages of prose, an artist proposal, a biographical statement, a preliminary budget, and a résumé by March 28.     Come to a Great tour to Great Britan!
    Entry fees: 30 UK Dollers
    Through out the tour, you may see many palaces, we might be even lucky enough to pass the Bukingham Palace!

    The Allen Ginsberg Poetry Prize
    Prizes: $1,000, $200, $100, publication, reading
    Fee: $18 to PCCC

    Poems: Awarded for a group of unpublished poems in honor of Allen Ginsberg's contribution to American literature. Entry fee includes subscription to The Paterson Literary Review. Send SASE or see website for complete guidelines. Up to five poems per person will be accepted for consideration. Four copies of each poem should be submitted. No poem should be more than two manuscript pages. Poems should not have the poet's name on them; instead a separate sheet should list the poet's name, address, phone number and the titles of the poems. Poems cannot be returned. Please do not submit poems that imitate Allen Ginsberg's work. Fee must accompany submission, (in the memo section of the check write " Poetry Contest" ;) . $40 " bounced check" fee. Only unpublished poems may be submitted. Do not call the College in reference to the Contest. Winners will be notified by mail. Winners' names will also appear in newspaper announcements. Include SASE for a list of winners.

    John Elsberg Poetry Contest

    3 poems: Up to three poems, of any length or form. Contest Fee: $15, payable by Paypal through submission form on site. If you prefer to mail entries, please send check payable to Free State Review. Contest entries will not be returned. All entries will be considered for publication in our Summer 2014. First prize winner gets $300 and a bushel of crabs. Second prize winner gets $50 and some claws. An extra $100 to the winning entry if submitted prior to January 15th,2014. Two notable mentions will also be published in our review. All entries will receive a copy of the Summer 2014 issue.

    Cave Canem Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize

    Second book manuscript: The Cave Canem Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize is a second-book award for African American poets, offered every other year. Submit two copies of a manuscript of 50 to 75 pages with a $20 entry fee. This award celebrates and publishes works of lasting cultural value and literary excellence. Winner receives $1,000, publication by Northwestern University Press,15 copies of the book and a featured reading.

    Balticon Sci-Fi Poetry Contest

    3 poems: Entries should address the themes of science fiction/fantasy/science. Winners will receive a cash prize, convention membership and be invited to read their winning entries at Balticon.
