    Wells Festival of Literature

    Tethered by Letters' Fall Poetry Contest

    Deadline: 15th July,2014.
    Prize: $100 and publication in the quarterly journal
    Entry Fee: $5 per entry OR $12 for three entries

    We are currently accepting poetry submissions of all genres and styles-from traditional form to free verse. Length requirements are no more than three pages per poem, single spaced with double spacing between stanzas. The poetry contest winner will be published as the featured poem in the Fall 2014 Quarterly Journal. Three finalists will be considered for subsequent quarterly journal publications or a TBL monthly poetry feature. Each finalist will also receive free professional edits on their submission. International submissions welcome.

    Ledbury Poetry Festival Poetry Competition 2014

    Closing date: 10th July,2014
    Prizes: Adults: First Prize: £1000 and a week at Ty Newydd; Second Prize £500; Third Prize £250. See website for details of Young People and Children's competition section. Winners have the opportunity to read their poems at the 2015 Ledbury Poetry Festival.

    New Writers Awards

    Three prizes are given annually to a poet, a fiction writer, and a creative nonfiction writer to honor their first books. The winners each receive an all-expenses-paid trip to several of the 13 GLCA colleges, each of which pays an honorarium of at least $500, to give readings, meet with students, and lead discussions and classes. Books published between the spring of 2013 and the spring of 2014 are eligible. Faculty members of the colleges will judge. Publishers may submit four copies of one book in each category by July 25. There is no entry fee. Send an SASE, e-mail, or visit the website for complete guidelines.
