    Tethered by Letters' Fall Poetry Contest

    We are currently accepting poetry submissions of all genres and styles—from traditional form to free verse. Length requirements are no more than three pages per poem, single spaced with double spacing between stanzas. The poetry contest winner will be published as the featured poem in the Summer 2015 Quarterly Journal. Three finalists will be considered for subsequent quarterly journal publications or a TBL monthly poetry feature. Each finalist will also receive free professional edits on their submission. International submissions welcome.

    Grants of up to $3,000 are given twice yearly to allow Minnesota writers to take advantage of a specific arts opportunity. Poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers who are U.S. citizens and have lived in Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, or St. Louis counties in northeastern Minnesota for at least six months are eligible. Submit a work sample of up to 15 pages of poetry or prose, a description of the work sample, a description of the opportunity or project, and a résumé by October 31. There is no entry fee.     A prize of £5,000 (approximately $8,429) and publication in Poetry Review is given annually for a poem. The winner is also invited to read at the Ledbury Poetry Festival in the U.K. A second-place prize of £2,000 (approximately $3,372) and a third-place prize of £1,000 (approximately $1,686) are also given. Poets from any country are eligible. Roddy Lumsden, Glyn Maxwell, and Zoë Skoulding will judge. Submit one poem of up to 40 lines with a 6 (approximately $10) entry fee and 3.50 (approximately $6) for each additional poem by October 31.
