    Sentinel Literary Quarterly Poetry Competition

    Closing Date: 28 February 2015.
    Prizes: £200 (First) , £75 (Second) , £50 (Third) , £20 x 3 (High Commendation) . The winners and commended poems will receive first publication in Sentinel Literary Quarterly magazine.
    Fees: £4/1, £7/2, £9/3, £11/ 4, £12/5, £16/7, and £22 for 10 poems. Enter online and pay securely by PayPal or print out an Entry Form for postal entries on website.     The Malahat Review (Victoria, BC) 2015 Long Poem Prize

    Closing date: 1st February,2015.
    Prizes: Two awards of $1,000 CAD each are given along with publication and an interview.
    Entry fee: Entry fee: $35-45 (includes subscription) .
    Further info: Entries invited from Canadian, American, and overseas. Length: a single poem or cycle of poems that is between 10 to 20 pages long. Multiple entries welcome.

    Morton and McCarthy Prizes

    Two prizes of $2,000 each and publication by Sarabande Books are given annually for collections of poetry and fiction. For the Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry, submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages; Mary Ruefle will judge. For the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, submit a manuscript of 150 to 250 pages of stories, novellas, or a short novel; Ben Marcus will judge.     A fellowship, including a stipend of $45,000, is given annually to an established international poet or fiction writer " who is unable to practice free expression in his or her homeland." The fellowship provides funds for relocation to the United States, living expenses, and an office on the Brown University campus for ten months. Writers or individuals seeking to nominate a writer may submit at least 10 pages of poetry or prose along with English translations, a case history showing a record of need, a publishing history, a résumé, and two letters of support by February 15.     Harold Morton Landon Translation Award

    A prize of $1,000 is given annually to a U.S. citizen for a translation of a book of poetry from any language into English published in the United States during the previous year. Collaborations by two translators are eligible, but anthologies of work by more than two translators are not. Bill Johnston will judge.
