    Skipton Library Poetry Competition

    Closing Date: 26th September 2014

    Details:
    For poems of up to 40 lines on any subject.1st prize £100,2nd prize £50,3rd prize £25,5 prizes £10 each,5 Hight commended. Adjudicator Isobel Thrilling and one other to be appointed. Poem to be typed on single sheet of A4 in single spacing, enclose separate sheet with your contact details, name, address, email, telephone number.
    Entry Fee: £2 per poem

    Poetry Rivals 2014

    Closing Date: 17th September 2014

    Details:
    Poetry Rivals is open to poets across the UK who are 18 years and over. Prizes: Top 100 poems will be selected by guest judges, those finalists will receive five free copies of the finalist publication and invited to the live poetry slam where they perform their poem to a live audience and the judges. The overall winner will be crowned the Poetry Rivals Slam Champion 2014 and get a book publishing contract.

    The Timothy Corsellis Prize

    Closing Date: 15th September 2014

    Details:
    Prize for writers aged 14-25 responding to work from six Second World War poets. Winners will be chosen by the Poetry Society, Imperial War Museums and the War Poets Association. Prizes include book tokens, poetry books, and the overall winner will be published in Poetry News.

    Stanza Poetry Competition

    Closing Date: 15th September 2014

    Details:
    Open exclusively to Poetry Society members who are also members of a Poetry Society Stanza. The theme is NEGLECT. Send up to two poems, email or post, max 40 lines. Winners announced on National Poetry Day,2 October 2014. Judge: Les Robinson. Poems to be sent in anonymously, with contact details on a separate sheet, plus the name of your Stanza and your Stanza rep. Winning poet will be given the choice of a free Poetry Prescription or a year's worth of membership. The poem will also be entered into the Forward Prize for a Best Single Poem nomination. Top 3 and 10 commended will be published on Society website.

    The Poems Please Me Prize 2014

    Closing Date: 14th September 2014

    Details:
    Prizes: 1st £600,2nd £300,3rd £150, Highly Commended £30 each. Subject: open. Length: 12-40 lines. Judge: Anthony Watts. Artists worldwide will illustrate the winning and commended poems (with mounted illustrations of their choice for the top three poets) with publication by Poems Please Me, by The Artists' Quarter (TAQ) and in a new eBook (see 'Movement' with 2013 prizewinners: http://www.poemsplease.me/movement/)

    Envoi International Open Poetry Competitions

    Deadline for submissions – 20th February,20th June and 20th October each year.
    Prizes: 1st prize £150,2nd prize £100,3rd prize £50.
    Each winner and three runners up win a complimentary copy with their poem.
    The three runners up are also awarded an annual subscription worth £15.
    Entry fee: £3 per poem or five poems for £12.
    Poems can be in any style, on any theme up to 40 lines.

    The Poetry Kit Poetry Competition

    Prizes: The prize is publication on the front page of Poetry Kit where it will be seen by the 10 thousand visitors we have each day, there will also be a few other goodies to show our thanks, but no cash prize.
    There is no set fee to enter but there is a catch!
    There will be six competitions over the year, each one of two months duration.
    Entry fee: Donation to the Liverpool Methodist Youth Exchange programme.

    Flash 500 Humour Verse Competition

    Closing date: This competition is run quarterly with closing dates of 31st March,30th June,30th September,31st December.
    Prizes: First: £150, £100, £50
    Entry fee: £3 for the first poem, then £2.50 for each poem thereafter
    Line Length: Up to 30 lines. The results will be announced within six weeks of the closing date and the three winning entries will be published on the website.

    Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest

    Closing dates: (Semi-annual) July 31st and December 31st, each year
    Prizes: Writing Contest First Prize is $500. Second Prize: $250. Third Prize: $100.
    Poetry Contest First Prize is $250. Second Prize: $125. Third Prize: $50.
    Entry fees: $5(USD) per poem, $10(USD) per short story

    Guidelines: The Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest is open to anyone who loves expressing innermost thoughts and feelings into the beautiful art of poetry or writing a short story that is worth telling everyone! And to all who have the ability to dream. Write a poem, thirty lines or fewer on any subject, style, or form, typed or neatly hand printed.
