    Milton Postgraduate Fellowship

    A nine-month fellowship, including a $16,000 stipend, is given annually to a Christian writer of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction to complete a first book. Writers who are U.S. citizens and have completed an MFA in creative writing or an MA in creative writing, English, or the humanities are eligible. The fellowship will take place on the campus of Seattle Pacific University from September 15,2015, to June 15,2016. Fellows will give a reading and a lecture at events hosted by Image, and teach courses in the SPU English department. Submit 8 to 12 poems or 30 to 50 pages of prose, a book proposal, a biography, and a brief explanation of goals to accomplish with a $25 entry fee by March 15.     Literary Awards

    Three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Bellingham Review are given annually for works of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The 49th Parallel Award for Poetry is given for a poem or group of poems; Bruce Beasley will judge. The Tobias Wolff Award for Fiction is given for a short story; Kristiana Kahakauwila will judge. The Annie Dillard Award for Creative Nonfiction is given for an essay; Susanne Paola Antonetta will judge. Using the online submission system, submit up to three poems of any length or a story or essay of up to 6,000 words with a $20 entry fee ($10 for each additional entry) , which includes a copy of the prize issue, by March 15.     Grants of $25,000 each are awarded annually to poets or prose writers in alternating years. This year grants will be awarded to prose writers. Fiction and creative nonfiction writers who have published either at least five short stories, essays, or novel or memoir excerpts in two or more literary journals that regularly publish fiction or creative nonfiction, or a short story or essay collection, novel, novella, or memoir between January 1,2008, and March 11,2015, are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit 20 to 25 pages of fiction or creative nonfiction with proof of eligibility by March 11. There is no entry fee.     Young Romantics Poetry Prize

    Details:
    Competition for 16-18 year olds run by the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association. Prize is a week-long creative writing course with Arvon working with practising writers. Poems on the theme of Lost Angels should be inspired by the Romantics.

    Fosseway Writers Poetry Competition 2015

    Quarterly Templar Portfolio Awards: 1st Quarter

    Submissions are invited for the 1st Quarter Templar Portfolio Awards for short pamphlets. This is the first of four submission windows for these awards through 2015. The winning poet for each quarter will be informed no later than four weeks after the closure for submissions and their pamphlet published and launched at Keats House and the 2015 Derwent Poetry Festival.
