Summer Love

The beat of my heart stopped
When the first dew dropped
Love that I hoped that will last forever
Love that only lasted for a summer
Desires are scorching like the sun
Have been damped by the rain
Would I ever be the same?
After I was shunned
Those few days of light and laughter
Are delicious and sweet like butter
Those fun and lively nights
Were witnessed by camp fire lights
When you, at the constellations, gazing
I gazed upon you and adoring
Your beauty your smile
The everything you are
The hot rays kissed our skins
While we kissed each other's lips
Your hair was blown by the humid wind
While you blew my mind
The time of the year came
The time of farewell and reality
The time to part ways
The time we dreaded
Skies are now shrouded by dark clouds
The stars you adored are not visible
Nowhere to be found, and so as you
You disappeared without a trace
My heart was abducted by you
