I long to see what I've not seen
and hear what I've not heard.
And the longing is a constant.
It keeps the heart of me stirred.

The skies opened and its tears did fall
and the river of tears did flow.
And mankind watched the rivers swell
and picked up oars to row.

I shall never be able to explain.
For mere words are non-existent as to
what in my memory will remain.

Ten times over in one hundred ways
I have said aloud.
'Keep me away from the source of evil
and a thirsting crowd.'

He, who has walked into my life
does not understand my plight.
How can he know the forbidden fruit
that I taste in my dreams at night?

Coffee, tea or chocolate bar,
I need my caffeine now.
How else will I find the strength
to finish this day somehow?

Another day appears again
And allows me to use my eyes
To focus on all the beauty I see
From the ground up to the skies.

I've stepped onto the merry-go-round
and as it goes around
I don't quite know which horse to choose,
the white, the black or brown?
...

They meet at public meetings.
But the words throw damning stones.
They speak as if to children
instead of weary bones.

How many loves have floundered and failed
and never had the chance
to blossom into a thing of beauty
because it lacked romance?
