One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
It's like saying love the sister, kill the brother.

Rain in the morning, pouring at noon,
rain in the evening, it's like a monsoon.
The clouds have opened in the skies.
It's like the heavens have tears in their eyes.

Thoughts and visions pass my way
in the twilight of my years.
I hold tightly to all of them
and try to hold back tears.

I picked a leaf up from the ground
and compared it to my hand.
Its veins were strikingly similar
and wondered was it planned

When most of the breath has left my frame
and not much lies inside
I'll remember when my breath was on fire
as I lay at night by your side.

Encircle me, my loved one.
Never let me escape.
For the cage your love has placed me in
has for me the shape

It's hard to think on what to say.
I've written so much on every day.
I've taken liberties with my pen,
Indulged in fantasies over and again.

Too uptight for my own good.
Too emotional I must include.
Not enough practicality in my being.
Too much compassion for what I'm seeing.

I could eat pizza every day
but I'd gain too much weight.
I could eat candy everyday.
Let it fill my plate.

All the things that come to me
are never what I expect.
Most come as surprises.
They're like a disconnect.
