Edward Baker Poems

Eastbourne is a beautiful place
With sun that shines upon its face
Walk through the streets
with style and ease
...

My grandson saw me crying
I know he wondered why.
It broke my heart to leave him
To kill him and say goodbye
...

Harvesting and gleaning
Down on the farm
Bean and pea picking
Strengthens the arm

Eastbourne

Eastbourne is a beautiful place
With sun that shines upon its face
Walk through the streets
with style and ease
And you will find there's
lots of trees.
The shops are bright
the streets are clean,
Flowers are everywhere to be seen.
Theatres and shows in certain places
And lots of visitors with sun tanned faces.
Eating fruits and lovely ices
And probably food with lots of spices.
Children in the sea, inviting,
And grown ups are a - letter writing
When the sun goes down at night
There's plenty to see with great delight
This town of ours is not forlorn,
But bears a great name,
Eastbourne.
