Eduardo Santibanez Poems

For one more morning with my bride
And to wake up by her side
She to be before my eyes
While we lay as the sun rise
...

How will it end?
If my hopes would not bend
What will I do?
If away from me you flew
...

Why can't you see me?
I am the one you loved
I am the skin you touched
I am the lips you kissed
...

We built dreams
futures formed from love and hope
Images of things to come, looked clear
What it takes to give up what is still so dear?
...

How would it feel?
To see everything turn gray
And to suddenly be astray
To see stones become clay
...

Majestically stunning
Danger from the deep
A lone jelly swimming
Ready for the reap
...

Pure instinct born of sin
Untamed, wild and sick
Unable to contain him
The path was his to pick
...

Not seeing the evident
Close to trip and fall
Unaware of what's in front
I could not see at all
...

Just dreams
Ended by reality
Surprising as it seems
Stomped by banality
...

All around us

Inside dance our souls
Twisting and spinning
...

Herald of summers
Greeting from nature
Your destiny glimmers
beams of creation
...

What I Would Not Give

For one more morning with my bride
And to wake up by her side
She to be before my eyes
While we lay as the sun rise

For one more moment of delight
As I lay with her at night
She to be last thing I see
Before dreams begin to be

For her to be in my bed
As the suns and moons go dead
While we lay in bed entwined
With her heart right next to mine

For a chance to change the past
And to this time make it last
To change this dreaded fate
As we something new create
