Create in colours, let them flow,
Express emotions, let them go.

I weigh up circumstances, shades of grey.
You brand shyness and softness as weakness,
I applaud empathy, love and astuteness.

Traumatised, terrified, hiding from view,
Shrinking back, expecting attack, poor you.
Treated with kindness, patience and respect,
Now look at you.

Reclining on a Turkish Delight, wobbling way out to sea,
A whiskeried walrus climbed aboard to ask if I fancied tea.
