I Am Mohammed Ali

The road is straight and straight is the road, Lord,
A descendant of poor slaves from the stark dark African continent,
He was king of the world as much as he was king of the ring,
Today, a great, thick and fearful darkness has with absolute stubbornness befallen us,
Our breathing capacity has been weakened.


Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu,
Even those that do not claim a religion are feeling something now,
The greedy soil has widely opened its demonic, gloomy toothless mouth to swallow him,
As the flyer like a butterfly and stinger like a bee lies subjected to a TKO,
The very first ever and last.


Cassius Clay was an embodiment of peaceful peace,
But he was also an embodiment of violent violence,
Peace in the world where he touched many hearts and raised hopes,
And violence in the ring where he disfigured faces and crushed hopes,
Indeed, he made equitable differences in the lives of many.


Ali was so many tribes in one, as much as he was one in so many tribes,
A tribe of purpose, courage, significance and patriotism,
A tribe of care, love, unity and peace,
A tribe of brilliance, distinction, perfection and possibilities,
A tribe of compassion, attitude, belief and relief.


On this day and those to come,
As we continue to get weakened by his heavy present absence,
The only way to honor Mohammed Ali is to be Mohammed Ali,
I may never be Mohamed Ali, great, amazing and all the likes,
But in my thoughts and in my heart,
I AM MOHAMMED ALI.
