How Can I Be Away From You

How can I be away from you, O soul of my soul! .
No, I am not gone and can never be gone
as long as life exists in this body
pregnant with desires of your nearness.
Only you do not seem to be aware of the depths of my longing.
The barriers of the world can only restrict my senses
from reaching out to you
but cannot restrict my thoughts travelling to reach your thoughts.

A cursory touch of your fingers on mine melts away
even a tiny fragment of hardness my heart has;
the knowledge of you seeking me sets my pulse racing
in the anticipation of meeting you.
O soul of my soul! I am within you and not away from you.
Only you do not seem to realize it.
