As Nature Speaks

'And God saw everything
That He had made,
And behold it was good.
Wasn't it? '

Before the pollution and the abuse,
The earth was radiant. Beautiful. Perfect.
It was a place of security - of tranquility.
Sea mirrored the skies and the land.
Hope showered the riverbanks.

Silhouettes dancing against the moonlight.
Creatures of flight soaring the vast skies,
Fishes swimming underneath crystalline seas.
And tucked beneath crevices are secrets
Far too dangerous to be revealed.

But then greed and abuse came,
And put all the people in earth to shame.
Matches are lit and dynamites are thrown.
Fishes are killed, animals disowned.
It is all because of you! Of me! Of us!

Man yells, "Timber", as trees fall to the ground.
Verdant forests are ignited, once green,
but now black and red. Now nature takes its final revenge.
And those who abused, who slaughtered and fought
Will be tormented with nature's devastating wrath!

Burn for burn! Fire with fire! Ashes to Ashes!

Typhoons, volcanic eruptions and -pandemonium
Evade our lands and our homes.
And all that is left are languid cries,
"Mother nature, hear our plea!
Save us from these catastrophes! "

And in the end, these apologies
Are useless, are obsolete and futile.
For the skies are burnt, the seas are drained,
The land has succumbed to bits and ashes.
The damage has been done.

And now I see, hear and feel everything,
That God has ever made. And behold,
Behold the sea, behold the skies,
Behold the land, everybody.
And ask yourself, is it still good?
