Dennis Field Poems

God hath not promised,
skies always blue,
flower strewn pathways
all our lives through.
...

they do so from the hurt,
the pain is great,
from something that was said,
maybe in the heat of the moment,
...

Oh God shine your light on me,
for I am a sinner you see,
most times I am in the dark,
no light to be seen,
...

It is the first day that we met,
my eyes met yours,
it was love at first sight,
it was the best day of my life,
...

If we started again,
you would be brand new,
for that we would be so true,
for our love would feel brand new,
...

You are all that my heart desires,
You fill it with feelings,
I have never had before,
You have taken the key,
...

Everyone needs love,
for it helps us through our lives,
we share things with our loves,
we bond with each over,
...

If not for you,
then for who,
will it be for,
you walk in the room,
...

The University of Hard Knocks,
it is not for all,
some of us are big,
and some of us small,
...

My love is like the rain
it starts small
then grows big
the drops do fall onto the ground
...

For my love is so strong,
what could go wrong,
I see you every day,
even when I am far away,
...

Do not cry when I die,
remember I loved you,
from the first day we met,
my children the moment you were born,
...

The silence.
no feelings,
cannot move,
the angel takes you,
...

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours.
...

Oh the love and light of my life,
do keep shinning your light on me,
never leave me,
or it will go dark,
...

My love for you is my hearts desire
it is like a wildfire
it hit me like the thunder clap
from the top of my head
...

As my love grows more for you
its like the morning
all brand new
the sun comes up to light the ground
...

Oh my love forever true
this is what I offer you
I loved you deep and hard
even though it was from afar
...

just me and you,
do we sit around,
with nothing to be found,
or just go to ground,
...

20.

We live our life for the years,
that God decides,
for on that day we do depart,
and give this life away,
...

The Best Poem Of Dennis Field

What God Hath Promised

God hath not promised,
skies always blue,
flower strewn pathways
all our lives through.

God hath not promised,
sun without rain,
joy without sorrow,
peace without pain,

God hath not promised,
we shall not know,
toil and temptation,
trouble and woe.

He hath not told us,
we shall not bear,
many a burden,
many a care.

But hath promised,
strength for the day,
rest for the labour,
light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
help from above,
unfailing sympathy,
undying love.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labour, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

The last hymn written by Annie Johnson Flint. Her hands were so gnarled by arthritis that she was unable to hold a pen, so a crayon or stick of chalk was wedged between her fingers, so she could write on a surface suspended over her bed. She had hoped to become a concert pianist, but in her late twenties she was diagnosed with arthritis. By the end of her life she was just four feet tall.
