Blessing In Disguise

Another member in the family
numberless thoughts slithered in
another brother; more responsibility
little did I know this was a gift,
a gift from god, sent from above
first glance at him
you start to get flimsy in your knees
his eyes so magical, they leave you starring for hours
seems as if you’ve been lost for a few days
his eyes so bright, they bring you back and you’re home safe
the bittersweet awake nights of his vehemnt cries
never correlate to his precious smile,
chubby cheeks,
bubbly laugh,
when days seem lonely
now I have my little brother to hold
little brother…
I take care of you each day,
hoping one day in the future when I need you,
you’ll take care of me instead
I witnessed your first step
I’m here to witness all the other signficant moments
I’m only a step ahead of you in life
as your role model figure
you grow more, more, more each day
not sure if I’m happy or torn
yet I know,
each moment will only be more memorable
you are my happiness
you are a blessing in disguise
