David Elliot Toju Poems

The Agape Love

I gave my son the best things of this world freely
But he went to labour for the least things of life
I showed my beloved the purest of love
But he preferred the hate of the world
He wandered after the lusts and vains things of life
The more I tried to draw close to my belove
The farther he ran from me
I am all powerful, I am omnipotent
I am gracious, I am merciful
But my son, my beloved loves a hateful god, a weak god
I gave my beloved power beyond imagination
But my beloved limits his capabilities everyday
But I am still here, I am nearby
Waiting for my son, my daughter, to run
Into my loving arms and come home
