tempered with desire,
leading me to places I
know I never should have

Deep in the tropics of a warm
night, I see you standing there.

Lazy, sticky breezes blow from

What is it that you see, when you
look across your life through the
debris? Do you see your ideas,
memories and dreams or do you

Seeing no reason why, I close my
eye’s and walk home not
wonting to fight. Pretending the
stars are made of tin I can see

Somewhere in the darkness,
though I have tried I lost your
love. Growing colder, the
passion of the past can never

Too many moons have passed to
justify the pain. Blaming you for
the sadness in the far off sky I
kneel beside the sea and cry.

Here is to the end, a place we must all go.
To the long narrative that went on and on
and now is gone.

My words dripping with useless meaning forming
a puddle at my feet, now reflects the sorrow that
torments my soul. Walking alone in the darkest
part of winter, alone and cold, I feel nothing of the

Lingering regrets, memories on the
verge of obscurity, only to be brought
back to light in the presence of you
standing there. Fear, and shame

Into the darkness I stare, wishing I knew why.
Even when she is lonely she refuses to think
about when she used to love me. How can I

Afterglow

Answers, in the form of fire
tempered with desire,
leading me to places I
know I never should have
gone. In the half light of a
morning met with the regrets
and fears, I pretend not to see

where I had began. Believing that
the past might someday be
undone I live on unaware that
all my dreams will soon forever
be undone.
