Daniel I Brown Poems

Don't worry...
Soon time will expire
and the winds that blew you in
will lift you back to the place you were...
...

God... It seems like all of this is only just a dream,
An endless, undying configuration of everything I’ve seen,
All my life,
All the years,
...

Calculating slowly,
Knowing I can't retract,
My thoughtless actions metaphor
To the feeling in my back,
...

Sadder and sadder as I climb up this ladder,
Built from the bones of our life once before...
Discarded for nothing,
Nothing but lies,
...

I use a hand to kill myself,
I use a deadly tool,
I watch it move, I watch it work…
It seems like days and days,
...

</>This is what I get for thinking to feel
Like I felt a connection
That for once could be real,
Just a laugh,
...

</>Time is just a circle
Always ending where it starts,
A fact lost the cultures as they’ve fallen all apart,
Now information stored as secret
...

So oddly now I look at you
And everything we were…
A story setup up like a midnights dream
Unlimited endless possibilities,
...

I hate that so many years of my life,
Have been wasted in nothing but lies,
Misrepresented singularities,
Never brought to light…
...

Your love is like a snowflake,
One of a kind…
Piercing my heart with its warming bind,
I wish you could see things the way that I do,
...

Walking down a beaten path...
Familiar and lonely,
Full of fears…
Left in my childhood,
...

It seems we find this passage
Is much harder than it seemed,
When sitting in our sheltered homes,
Behind our sheltered dreams,
...

I feel you calling me…
I don’t understand the reason but I know the excuse
Another moment for comfort,
Another moment I’m used…
...

What is it that makes me cry?
The thing that makes me tick?
Where does all this emptiness come from?
Where does it exist?
...

Tranquil places in my mind,
Stored from the weathering of father time,
Safe to say they're saved and held
In a prison complex known too well,
...

There’s a deathly disease
Living in my mind,
Connecting, transmitting down the skull and the spine,
Intertwining, emitting, and forcing its way,
...

Engage the play,
It kills the pain,
Of broken knuckles and bleeding rain,
A dull soft roar from the outside in,
...

No I can’t talk,
Nor can I breathe,
All this building of burden collapses in me,
Treating my mind as a separate disease
...

There goes the light that was burning in your eyes,
A pleasant deception now a worn down disguise,
No more questions, pondering, or begging to know
The essence and basis of the thoughts that you hold…
...

20.

</>Who cares for what it is I say?
Remarks to pull me through the day,
In one ear and out the next,
No relative statement or important connect

Altitude Sickness

Don't worry...
Soon time will expire
and the winds that blew you in
will lift you back to the place you were...
before all this,
don't get too anxious...

your pain is only temporary
time isn't nearly as lasting as you would believe
and could always be worse,
don't hold yourself back...

we've wasted so much time
holding on and standing here
waiting for what?
nothing waits for us, so we must
do ourselves the same favor
don't run...

fear isn't that frightening
everything you need is here,
just open your eyes
don't die...

soon things will change
and the person you remember being... before all this
will show up to save you
and all the things that seem so tense
will melt away into nothing,
while the skies fill with light,
and your soul falls back in line
