Fathers boys and Mothers sons,
French soil beneath their weary feet,
They toil to reach what will become,
A graveyard on some foreign street,
Immortalised on some foreign stone,
These Fathers boys and Mothers sons,
These men reduced to rag and bone,
Now silent under foreign guns.
