Dan Walker Poems

As I stare into the night I wonder if my thoughts might drift away to you
If they may be carried away by the wind innocent and free
if they may find you as you sleep in your bed
...

There was a monster under my bed
though I never dared speak of him
for he was impossible to see
and even more so to scare away

A Child In The Dark

As I stare into the night I wonder if my thoughts might drift away to you
If they may be carried away by the wind innocent and free
if they may find you as you sleep in your bed

I will be the gentle breeze that caresses your cheek
The soft light of the moon shining down on you
the waving of tree branches and the sweet sound of the leaves

I will continue to stare into the darkness like a child
with an easy smile upon my face
and the naive belief such thoughts can exist
