Daisy Hannah GallagherLeigh Poems

I like the quiet places, the silent places -
places inside my head.
Places where I can run and hide
in the moments when I feel afraid.
...

You placed your hand in my heart -
what were you thinking when love took hold?
It couldn't last forever, but you gave me hope;
You took away mortality and gave me
...

3.

I am hungry for your love...
the nature of love's call and
...

I leave a candle burning in the window
to guide you safely home each night.
I clear a path for you to find your way,
and each night I keep watch and hold hope.
...

If I go one day without you,
Will I survive the hours
and the chiming of the clock?
If you leave me, and don't look back,
...

Why do you kill the night
with too much song?
Too many nights have passed
in silent lullabies...
...

Bless me with light, that I may see your face.
Shine your radiance upon me.
Let me feel the spark of love once graced...
...

When I was a child, I dreamed,
and dreams were that I became a man
and all my dreams and dreamings
disappeared, until you came into my life.
...

A vigil of sorrow takes place
looking out from my window
into a world somehow changed.
...

You are the tenderness
that inspires me to write
of music and poetry -
and of love, and of life.
...

I see the sun in the sky
and I know the morning dew
and the light of day has arrived.
When I see the moon in the sky
...

Let me sound the waves crashing the rocks;
the foam and sea mingling with life's shore.
Let me be the call, within my heart,
of the sky lark that is no more...
...

Teach me of love -
the love that knows your beauty.
Fill me with your passion
so that love may never die.
...

Angel, you are my beloved
because God sent you to stand at my side.
He led me to see you, and in the seeing
my heart met your desire.
...

“I love you, ” what would you have me say?
All the worlds and all the universes
cannot hold the love I have in my heart.
What more can I tell you but that “I love you”?
...

Woman, you are beautiful to me -
You are my wise and counted friend.
You are the sunlight of my eyes
as I watch the smile rise upon your face,
...

When I'm alone I think of you,
My heart is pounding like a drum.
Alone, inside the silent hours,
will peace and stillness ever come?

I Like The Quiet Places, The Silent Places

I like the quiet places, the silent places -
places inside my head.
Places where I can run and hide
in the moments when I feel afraid.

I like the places that welcome me
and let me run, or hide and play.
I like the quiet moments
where life seems far less grey.

I like it when I'm free to be
the one who chooses what to say -
the one who sits in silence
and hides herself away.

I like the quiet places where
in silence I may think at will,
and sometimes in these silences
I like to be quite still.

I like my quiet places and
the moments these may bring,
for in my quiet moments
I feel free to laugh, and play and sing.
