d'menz veen Poems

Drop, dropp and many drops
came dropping
on my cottage roof
the heavenly shower
...

Like a snake crawl, the roads curves uphill
Green lush trees and bushes there stand still
Yellow creepers creeping in branches high
Lowering their leaves underneath where they lie.
...

When the rains end their heavy showers
Dry clouds flocks in the Heavenly bowers,
Blue, white and red lilies dance in the breeze
To welcome the coming of autumn
...

Works done are finished
Its time to go now, for there, He's waiting to lead
Back to our home, come be quick
Its freedom for us now, don't be anymore sick
...

Sing for me, beloved mine low and sweet
With your caring voice, I, Happiness do meet,
Tender like a nightingale's voice, your do comes the same
Mine unhappy heart, rejoice..........I can do claim.
...

I do wanna meet you
I'm traveling in the same road
without you
Where does it end?
...

The Sewali blooms, fresh dews purify the flowers,
Grasses bathed, by those heavenly showers,
Drop by dropp fell, drenched my thatched roofs-
Chill wind blew, bits the walls and window pane,
...

That day,
someone came,
went leaving me dead.
A cruel death.
...

Ummm.... Woke up at dawn from sleep a few minutes ago,
Sleep Queen, O dear! where u do, for now go,
I want u back right now, to resume my dream you did show,
Come back O dear, O dear Queen! I wanna see my dreams, beautifully grow.

I was there when the sun departed in the west
I was there when thosebirds came back to their nest
I was there on the bankof Gaurang, walking in slow steps
Watching the tired sun gone to have some rest.......
...

Lend me a stone
I'll lend you a peacock
What you see in the picture, In reality you'll not
When our reality be in those pictures? ?
Look into the face of the sun
...

Tree tops like temple peaks
Peaking towards the sky
Drenched in winter frosts
Standing lone
...

After a long solitary confinement
In deep love for someone
I heard a song
A song in the woods
...

The nite is dark,
and i'm unable to sleep,
I stare around from my bed,
and had a look into the dark emptiness,
...

Hung, on the white wash wall in the verandah
Of my house
My grandfather's portrait
There, old, but fresh and clean.

April Rain! !

Drop, dropp and many drops
came dropping
on my cottage roof
the heavenly shower
wetting, and more drops
falling
flowing from the thatch-eves
pure and filtered fresh
the first April morning rain
washing the dusty leaves
pure and green
and
the fragrant coriander leaves
blessed with silver liquid gems.
Upon a high branch
a pair of starlings shivers cold
blankets its body
with its warm feathers
hid under a thick leaves
their ears straightened
listening to the soft blew
of the april wind
a melody to compose
and a melody to chirp
a company to the first April rain.
Oh! ! the first april rain
that sheds from heaven
to welcome the spring
purify the way of its coming
freshen the dusty atmosphere
with its showers
and to make the gardens
beautifully adorn with flowers.
i can smell
the smell of first wet earth
of the temple altar
pure and sacred
like the chandan tilak*
charming yellowish on my forehead
the wet drops on the green shijou* plant
resides there like the holy water sprinkled
I can see the footstep stone
at the altar
ever wet
is wet again
by the shower of the first april rain.
Oh the first april rain
fulfilled my thirsty heart
that was dry and barren
brought to me the wetness
and washed away all my worries
Oh the april rain
kisses my heart
with wetness all over again.
