CHRISTOPHER EBENEZER

CHRISTOPHER EBENEZER Poems

the sons of men will rather die
in the flattery smoke of lies
than live in peace and solitude
in the sincere light of truth.
...

It’s the way he curves his lips
To me
That makes their brows to knit
It’s the way he bids me come
...

I will wait! I will wait! !
for the best of the best
I will wait! I will wait! !
for as long as i may
...

A word so denying to will
A word too great for men
A word so restricting to choice
A word so rejected by tongues
...

Throw the bottles all away
Let the streets be cleared of them
May no one be seen with them
How i hate the liquor smell.
...

A fault is well and better seen
By one who plays a watching role
In life's interesting drama play
Some ones will often shoot their words
...

If you ever miss me
Don't forget the way we met
How our voids where fully filled
Don't forget the look in my eyes
...

when the horde of hell assail me
and i know not where to turn
when all around me is danger
and no free land there be to perch
...

She's free to all but engaged to few
She walks the street every which way
She speaks to men who are willing to hear
and I have heard her words are as good as gold
...

Its a serpent that's biting
when you can't do without drinking
Its a serpent that's biting
when beer looks inviting
...

I will tell you of a land
The darkest ever land
The hanging airy smell
Is non you've ever smelt
...

I thought i heard
a baby scream
against a beast
denying it space
...

Do you feel your wounds are grieving
Do you think they can not heal
Do they get fresher and fresher
on every passing day
...

The Sons Of Men

the sons of men will rather die
in the flattery smoke of lies
than live in peace and solitude
in the sincere light of truth.

the sons of men will rather save
a quiet thief from death
than stop themselves from
stoning he that doth question their deeds.

the sons of men will rather have
their way with a coward king
than be compelled to live
the rules of a valiant lord.

the sons of men will rather have
a blow from he that hates
but the warning words
of a loving friend
their soul doth so despise.

the sons of men would run to death
if the course will run on smooth
but off-away they go from life
if there be any challenge.

the sons of men will choose a place
as hot and dark as hell
if they will get a blissful life
upon a woeful earth.

the sons of men will rather have the devil
in place of God
the love and life that Jesus gives
does matter less to them
Oh! how so much they love to live
at will and so be lost.
