Carla Pickens Poems
in my circle of wilderness... the silence of everything but the birds, singing in the echo of the trees The trees giggle and sashay
Lilac rage and yellow dot The purple haze of filtered light Between the blades of grass you hide To make a perfect picture slide
Voice of sorrow I hear your pain Your eyes are heavy Your lips are strained
i sit here and wait looking out above you the sun flickers in time and I hear patience pass me by

in my circle of wilderness...
the silence of everything but the birds,
singing in the echo of the trees
The trees giggle and sashay
dancing all around
Oh sun, my universe, where are you
You shine bright with only a 'patch' of light
I see you, but do you see me?
in my circle of wilderness (delusions)
Then, suddenly the faceless dancer tickles my cheek
bringing a feeling of existance and peace...
I am here
