Caoimhe Daly Poems

Feels like just yesterday,
I was playing on the swings in the park,
Not a care in the world,
So much things have happened,
...

You hurt me more than I deserve,
how can you be so cruel?
I love you more than you deserve,
why am I such a fool?
...

I want to run, I want to hide.
From all the pain he caused inside.
I want to scream, I want to cry.
Why can't I tell him Goodbye?

A real friend is someone who walks in when everybody else walks out,
A real friend shares all the good times and helps you in the bad,
A real friend knows all about you but loves you anyway,
A real friend is like a star, you dont always see them, but you know they're always there,

Reflection

Feels like just yesterday,
I was playing on the swings in the park,
Not a care in the world,
So much things have happened,
I'm no longer that little girl.
Sometimes I wish I was,
Because grazed knees are easier to fix than broken hearts.
And everyone would play together.
There was no popularity contests, no groups, no exclusion.
You could play with boys and be considered 'just friends'.
Yes, there would be fights,
But they would be over in a second and you were best friends again.
Life isn't easy as a teenager,
There's more difficulties, complications, heart-break, back-stabs,
But somewhere deep down,
We're all still those little kids in the park.
