Bongo Beno Kabingesi Poems

Love is said to be blind of race
Outlasting the slowed, dreary pace
Verified by the look on her face
Infected by the eyes that dare space
...

Am I far from finding God?
Where is his heart?
Does David know
He pursued it so
...

From the days before the days before my birth
A slightly catastrophic mood fell over the earth
See before things made of paper and cotton were considered of worth
Before the world needed a nazi reason to hurt
...

Her happy hurts
Her sad silences
Her groans grow
With every light her eyes glow
...

Lights
Something doesn't feel right
You walk and walk deeper into the night
Wondering why you'd try to not die on a road that's named suicide
...

Reaching out in the dark holding edges and frames
Trying to see what doesn't look the same
Couldn't see the finger but felt it pointing the blame
I felt it's sharp tip causing me silent pain
...

Love is said to be blind of race
Outlasting the slowed, dreary pace
Verified by the look on her face
Infected by the eyes that dare space
Never failing to look upon the weak
Grown from the deepest trough to the highest peak
Yet with love comes the words to speak
Overpowering words that leave him weak
Under her eyes he stares above
Inspired by the thought of her love
Shocked at the sight of her above
Looking down at him, in love
If love is blind then why is she all he sees?
Kindred spirits dance in the trees
Every leaf falling free
If love is blind then where is he meant to be?
Nevermind the way she makes him stare
Stare at the image of herself she never shared
Partly because she was simply scared
Impressed by the him that was never there
Rare was the moment when he'd think
After a dance, a laugh and a drink
That maybe she wasn't that missing link
Intense thoughts that he thought he should never think

Obviously he would eventually live to regret
Nights of blind love he forgot to forget
