Angel's Prey

I hear dawn whisper on its way
Though I beg mercy, the light is not kind
And I feel my doom in the coming day

In gentle Night's dying spray,
There is no salvation I can find
I hear dawn whisper on its way

Though secrets burn in their own way,
Harsh Light's inferno leaves you blind
And I feel my doom in the coming day

I was once an angel's prey
God's wrath was vicious and two-tined
I hear dawn whisper on its way

Now God has gone and hell's to pay
Mayhap the Devil will be kind?
I hear dawn whisper on its way
And I feel my doom in the coming day
