This Obscenity that we call 'WAR'
There is this obscenity that we call war
We act as if it's something that we need to fight for
To kill and to rape and to pillage a land
Far from our own and take from another's hand
We say it's for our own defense that we do
This robbing, and maiming, and destroying so cruel
Just to gain riches and to kill of those who
Challenged our right to this dominant rule
I don't understand why we treat others so
To manufacture hate to compel others to throw
Around words of slander and propagate hate
Is this the desire of to have such a fate?
We send in our missiles from remote control
We sell weapons to children to kill as they grow
We import drugs here to dull all of our minds
So that we will be docile and kill all our kind
As suicides rise and the killing spree grows
As women and children cry for the dead in their woes
Who've died in the trenches to defend what they have
From foreign invaders who say they are 'mad'
Oh my, what a legacy we do so inspire
One of domination, of killing for hire
Torture and hatred and ignoring the few
Who only want to live and do as they chose
Why do we judge those who live in these lands?
Why do we take all they have with theses hands?
Why do we feel it's OK to destroy?
Every Man, Woman and child with the hate we deploy?
We sink ships and destroy building in our own land
And say that invaders did so with their hands
Then wage wars of venomous lies and so cruel
To rip out the guts of the ones we will rule
There is this obscenity that we all call war
That makes us a monster and prophetic whore
Who will do whatever it takes just to win
This will be our legacy and our greatest sin
