Runaway

You're restless
This is not your purpose
in the cage
to waste every breathe,
every risk along with us.

Hungered for adventure
Thirst for the sun on your face
To lay in the gardens,
Watch the bird's trail
reach another place.

Ride a horse south,
Fire igniting deep in the Earth
watch as the my own youth
reunite for some other truth.
Finding what is outside these bars.

Trapped with others
who seem blind to captivity
It's getting hard to capture
the wild side of me

My wings have been broken,
Torn apart,
To linger
My shadow to belong on this land or
the heart of this prison

And I will runaway
Freedom was taken
Wishing for the rush of a new day.

Beautiful morning,
Beautiful moon,
I will be one of the runaways soon.
