Condescension

A pig, so said my uncle years ago,
is down to earth and practical and smart.
And even clean within his boundaries
his shit, however, smells, there is no doubt.

Whoever did invent the oft-used phrase
that pigs cause swinishness, which can be so unpleasant,
must have been working in the city, counting days
with drawn tight shutters and those leather-patched-up elbows.

Well, let me tell you that most swinishness today,
is caused by humans or the cretins who pretend
to have a claim on fellow man's communal life
there is resemblance only to the gnomes of hell.

Let's call him porker, that cute fellow with his snort
he finds you truffles and will grace your plate in person
in all your years that you may wander on this planet
you'll never meet a real pig that's condescending.
