Bernard Jess Sagpang Poems

Your whispers

Soft, quiet, strange
...

The wind blew cold and somber
Sent shivers to his cold heart
Deafening doubts encumbered
Inside his soul to sing out
...

If I sing to You
a song in the wind, sung
at the top of my lungs
before the winter breeze, cold
...

If I set sail in these oceans

to farthest seas and unseen shores
...

The sun came in warm and lit our eyes brightly

Our colors came strong, a little bit motley
...

The wind blew with symphony

A sweet chorus in the daylight
...

When the sun lies west

And I am nowhere found
...

Face down

Heart out
...

My eyes run

To and fro
...

Promise me you’ll never give in

Even for the last drop
...

Come, Let me be your moon

In the lonely cold night

“How long? How far? ”

Said Amy

Her mouth was shut

Her bones were broken

A denizen of the sunset and sunrise view
I hopeful man that seeks for a star
Amidst the clouded skies and frozen eyes

To live and die
...

A view at the stars in the heaven's ceiling
And to the mountains in an evening breeze
Night after night, I gaze to find songs to sing
As I find myself more and more amazed
...

I walked along a road
Dusty and old
With an unlit candle in my pocket
Trying to find a shelter
...

Hello Pharisee!
The day is perfect and so glamorous
with a calling symphony!
From a distance,

To A Dying Friend...

Your whispers

Soft, quiet, strange

They haunt me in the night

Like an arrow in the wind

They are alive

They gather ‘round about me

‘til I heed them

As my heart leaps with symphony

Of hope and faith

Your breath

Soft, quiet, strange

Chasing chances, tossing coins

Like an arrow in the wind

They pray and plead

They rally ‘round about me

And I have faith in them

Though they seemed faithless, sometimes

I believe as my heart leaps

With a joyful melody

They are alive! They are alive!

Look inside my friend, you are still alive!

Sigh and breathe!

See and believe!
