Her curtain she could say,
And look at me etherized on the
Ground that grind me.
Who brought me here again?
Or am I as bottled,
My head as it could be or shall?
Let's take me home where I dance
For joy
Take me beyond the firm, pass the oceans
And witness quiet skies with me
I might say love, but that is an over statement
But then love and hate do walk parallel
As a balance, with latter always lagging behind.
Trailing around sizzling lanes;
and inferior as thought
She sat with the imperials
A nature of hers is of the click tongues, clicking
wishes
Draining away from ticking spells
'It's my figure, ' she said. How defined I am.
A thunder eye might perceive back home in my
abode
And gratitude I might have been fooled through
But on the plane, I learned to yield
The earth would ponder under the seedling
And the rope would slit the stalk
surrounded by a cage
But still it grew and gave
Her gallant existence asked for some ‘shadow'
A secret, she might have repeated;
No, it's grace she had wanted.
'Tell about me to some little girls, '
she whispered.
Like a being as shea
Or the thorny stalk withdrawing the wine
The rope never slit the thorny one,
Too much grace, he said I have
And I was much adored in the depth but
This cover of mine, hasn't it not betrayed me?
Heaven said no, it never would
Says by tradition, I could hope
And I gave my fleshy self out.
Rains pour down, said it is a way of life,
Then the bloke looked back as I cursed
He turned and mocked but came back as another.
Hatred filled remembering my child like him
But he has my cover in the resting home.
Some flowery nuts blossom, a sign to be eaten
And in my jangling attire, a strangle there on the
neck
Eating away my existence.
Once in a while, I do blossom
And I might tell my Negro lovers that
I died before he thought
Ain't no pleasure of mine coming tonight,
Because it ain't so level but some mirages
Besides, I found the better of the ends
If you don't believe, walk backward for its
veracity
My illusions are my life, the reality, I left for
A cover as nature as mine to recall
'So do tell of me to your little ones'
Because I am Venus
The window to their desires
The Hottentot in your husbands'
Dreams.
