These halls hold sorrow and pain.
They are far from empty.
Just two walls running parallel,
Full of me.

People tend to think that I am as strong as stone, but even the toughest diamond has its flaws.

People tend to think that my knowledge is as vast as the universe, but even the universe has empty parts.

The sun rises,
As always.
It does not care if no human is there to see its glory,
As it chases away the fears of the night.

Pine trees dance through the night
lit only by snow.
Their lower branches brushing the ground
Like a noble lady's skirts as she dances a broad and sweeping waltz.

The sunlight is heavy and golden
It falls like manna

I am a wanderer of worlds.
I have traipsed through the sands of time and knocked the dust off of my boot heels upon the doorstep of Fate herself.
I know every atom of my soul down to the base and have learned to love every crack and shadow.
I learned my body down to the particles of stardust that flow through my veins and the iron that makes my heart hard enough to exist and soft enough to survive.
...

A peculiar beauty is given to the fall of snowflakes-
The gentle dance of glitter upon the face of a velvet night
So strong that you feel it in your marrow-
Carried on the backs of softly swirling eddies of air

2. I have been a coffin for a month. The only words my mother could speak when my older sister died within her.
3. If you knew how much I wanted to die you would let me. Lit up on a screen in the middle of the night that was not seen until the morning but for once it was not too late.

I want to hit something.
I want to tear somethingapart.
I want to. spit. words. of. acid. That melt all those that oppose my not-so-righteous fury.
I want to run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run until my iron will is worn to nothing and the world beneath me dissolves from the friction.

Athena King Biography

My poems have evolved along with me and I honor my past self by keeping my old poetry available, even as it no longer reflects my voice. Bad things happened and I forgot to learn from them for awhile. I hope that my voice can be a call into the void that brings you some peace.)

Monsters

There are many monsters in the world,
Some that grasp,
Some that bite,
But worst of all,
Are the ones in you.
Death,
Anger,
Love,
Pain,
And regret.
Those are the monsters in you.
These are the ones,
That catch and hurt,
That break and taunt.
But worst of all is hope.
Hope is an illusion,
A petty dream.
And when hope breaks,
Like it always does,
It hurts so thoroughly,
That you are shattered.
You then glue yourself together,
With whatever you can find.
More hope,
More fear,
More love,
More grief.
You are now ready to be broken again.
This is how we live our lives with the monsters in us.
