A Love Song To Neruda

When have the stars of the sky ever ceased to shine?
In their brightness, in their luminous aura, I see a face smiling,
A soul floating.
In this blue velvet of a night,
I hear a voice breaking,
But into what?
Maturity, grief, or love?
You know what, they were all you,
Your essence spread over a night of small meaningful nothings.
It was your voice that broke, with a sigh on its parted lips,
Yes, i remember now clearly, it was your face,
Your waist, your hands, your soul.
I know it was you.
There is no need to hide,
To lie, my love,
I knew it was you,
Calling my name in ways you can.
