My best friend
My only friend
Dark as the night
Tracing my path me since the rise of the sun
Gone in the wind when the sun falls into the horizon
His presence still felt
Keeping me safe

My best friend
My only friend
Master copycat at day
Skilled camouflager at night
Multi-talented person
Well defined proportion
Uncanny to myself

My best friend
My only friend
The time for separation has come
Sticking together was never our plan
And so we separate
For the first time in our lives
Never have we ever been separated for quite this long.
I try to get a glance of him
He follows
As I breathed my last breath
And he disappeared into the darkness
