Stabbed a million times to death,
Desperately catching up my breath.
Been hurt too much, I can’t get up.
This throbbing pain in my heart, I can’t stop.

A smile came from my lips and it reached my eyes
As we watched neon lights cover up the sky
Playing with their names, we shared laughter.
Nothing could ever compare to this moment we had together.

That December we shared a lovely day,
Giggling how a hospital can be hot that way.
Then we saw a bride on her way to the church.
If we reached that state, would we still see each other?

Whenever helicopters pass above the sky,
A glimpse from the past features you and I.
When a four year old me drags you out the house
And our heads look up to see it fly above the clouds

Breathe in deep, don't ever give up.
Breathe in and out and don't ever stop.
Though the pain, just look around.
Two angels stand with weeping sounds.

Born To Survive

Stabbed a million times to death,
Desperately catching up my breath.
Been hurt too much, I can’t get up.
This throbbing pain in my heart, I can’t stop.

One night when no one was around,
I found myself standing on holy ground.
Now that things fall, I knelt down.
Saying, “God, please hear my aching sound.”

Just like before, he heard my troubled cry.
He made me stand up and hold my head up high.
“He is my strength”, I realized.
Why should I feel low when I am His child?

Now, here I am facing life.
I am finally happy but life is not life without strife.
Not like before; I won’t shed a tear and feel like I’ll die.
Because I am His child... born to survive.
