Angelo Ventresco Poems

Fear ye not my wee one, fear ye not.
The dream you had was not for thee,
coming from a distant shore
a tempest wild blew it astray.
...

I wake to a new day,
but why?
Nothing has changed,
the hurt, the pain still lingers.
...

Oh how I miss those walks in the park,
where birds would sing and dogs did bark.
Nuts for the pigeons and some for the squiriels,
swan boats dfift by leaving watery swirls.
...

The shaft of Eros has pierced my heart,
sending waves of desire through my whole.
Amor's snare, holds me, I'm held rigid
there is no escape.
...

White capped waves crash against the ledge,
again and again they pound rock strewn hedges.
Surging surfs toss up yreasures galore,
debris, shells, rockweed and more.
...

The sea is very angry today,
perhaps neptune is bad in mood.
The broiling water was black with shades of green,
Raging waves clashed as if in a feud.
...

The shells burst around me, my first battle has begun.
I could tell with metal flying this was not for fun.
I flopped in a hole that was tilled with rank muck,
surely I thought this would bring me luck.

I never met a man I really disliked.
Until at a party Imet a fellow called, Ike.
He was crude to the women,
and insulted the men.
...

Many trips to the john,
my libido has gone.
My strength has waned,
knees are in pain.
...

He was her knight in shining armor
high upon his white steed.
Sworn to protect his princess,
from dragons and evil deeds.
...

Can you not hear the voices, you leaders of men
It's the voices of the dead crying put this war to an end.
You sit at your deks with butts in your hands,
while the blood of our boys color foriegn sands.

There once was a man from the coast of Maine,
who laughed at danger with great disdain.
One day while at sea, gale winds did appear,
he laughed at the storm and to port did not steer.

The scarlet sun slowly lowers behind the horision,
it gives the sea colors that certainly thrill.
Sky shows a pallet of many hues,
castng shadows on oceans of red, yellow and blue.

Fear Ye Not

Fear ye not my wee one, fear ye not.
The dream you had was not for thee,
coming from a distant shore
a tempest wild blew it astray.
Fear ye not, for now a calm has come,
her bearings set, she has left your safe harbor,
to find one to her liking. Fear ye not not my wee
lass, fear ye not. Your Daddy's arms will
keep you safe from harm. So sleep ye now
my little one, for fear has gone...
Remember now what I say: For if you ever
have another soon it will go away;
Fear ye not...
