FATHERLESS

I'm the great pretender you'll never see me cry
...

lam an African child
Not because l was born in Africa
But my heart beats for Africa.
My motherland the beautiful land
...

Her radiant dawns bring pure hope
Her hills and valleys whisper an ancient name
Laughter of her kids, with the winds elope
She is strong even though her body is bruised.
...

God may I be a good human
May I have a good heart
A good heart to love everyone
May I be humble and respect everyone
...

Wasted years

Pleasing you that I tried
I even swallowed my pride
...

Africa
Continent carved out of glory
Enriched with fertile soils
Decked with bronze embedded with gold
...

Everyone has touched the apex of time
I see with joy climax of time
The clock struck all parts of the planet
Now l listen to the drum and clarinet.

Fatherless

FATHERLESS

I'm the great pretender you'll never see me cry
Don't be fooled by my smile the tears have run dry
Life is fraud full of deceit, my life unfold over times
Abandonment led to a lonely fatherless child
how can a child grow when he left to run wild
No one was there to teach me the difference between right and wrong

Teased by people that I'm fatherless
Mocked, belittled beaten and bruised with no one for protection they all abandon me
Wishing to know Father's love and feel it
Fear to mix with other people even to express how i feel people wont take make serious
They always say its bitterness that's really hurt

When i come into life i had hopes and dreams
I hope for acceptance, happiness and understanding
I hope for peace, warmth and stability
I hope you'll hold my hand as I grow up
I hope you'll be there for me when the light behind the clouds seems forever lost

I dreamt you'll be my hero, my knight in shining armour
I dreamt you'll be my friend, my confident my mentor
i dreamt you'll my teacher, my guide and the light of my life
i dreamt you'll be lovingly showing me how to mature into an adult
i dreamt you would accept me through my most rebellious days

i needed you to teach me how to stand on my own
i needed you to teach me how to own the space in the world
i needed you to teach me how to live up to my responsibility
i needed you to teach me appropriate speech and behaviour
i needed you to teach me how to stand for myself
i needed you to teach me boundaries and how to protect myself

i needed you to teach me how to identify good and bad
i needed you to be there when my life fell apart
i needed your support and understanding through my dark days
i needed your comfort and love when i fell into trouble
i needed your encouragement, you praise your warmth hug
i needed you to believe in my potential

Above all i needed you to show me how i meant to you
Not because what i do or how i am now
But i needed to know how i meant to you as your daughter
A father is supposed to be a child first hero
I guess you never gasp which role you should play into my life
