From Ireland's fair emerald isle,
came a man with a cheeky smile,
with twinkling eyes and infectious grin,
the hearts of all he met he did win,

vibrant in technicolour,
stylish with a classic cut,

Jolly Fat Man

I am a Jolly fat man,
my mask a big wide smile
It gives the illusion that I'm happy,
though I'm hurting all the while,
it covers up my feelings,
the ones I wish to hide,
feelings so painful that cannot be denied,
inside I am in turmoil,
emotions a surging rage,
the depths of my torment,
I cannot begin to gauge,
I am a Jolly fat man,
with an exterior of calm,
covering my frailties,
with humour and boyish charm,
but inside I am crying tears,
tears that will not dry,
but I will soldier on regardless
albeit with a sigh.
