I didn't try to run Lord,
I didn't want to hide.
I didn't realize I hoard,
I didn't know I lied.

White above, and here below.
I am blinded by the glow.
Mind blank, and chest cold,
I feel heavier than gold.

Angelic voices echo in the cathedral of my mind,
Long has it remained empty with no life to find.
I sit alone on a throne of the darkest stones,
Feeling so sick and weak down to my bones,

With eyes glacial blue,
And smile snow white,
Your laughter is warm
Like sunlight.

Dear one whose strength I admire,
I must admit closeness with you I desire.
I hear rumors of mistakes you have made,
And they do cause my heart to fade.

O Lord I cried out, and You answered.
You gave me the things I desired.
I grew weak and You empowered me,
You opened my eyes to see.

As I lower this casket into the ground,
I painfully aware of the lack of people around.
No friends or lovers left to say good bye,
They're just happy to let the old man die.

They said I was too soft,
That my dreams were too aloft.
They don't know the monster that I hide,
That is clawing and fighting deep inside.

Hear the wind howling through broken homes,
Watch it carry the pages of ancient tomes.
Through the streets and empty roads,
Feeling only heavy loads.

Blessed is He who thwarts my power,
Leaving me weak because of my strength.
He does not let the enemy devour,
Me though I suffer at a length.
