Time

Tick, tock
As time passes my watch talks,
Not caring if anyone hears.
But trusting that I will keep it ticking.
My watch keeps my time on hand,
Never letting me forget that my day is almost over.
As it ticks I think about my heart.
Bu-bum, bu-bum.
As time passes my heart beats in my chest,
Not caring if anyone can feel it.
Trusting that I will keep it beating,
My heart keeps my body going.
Never letting me forget that my life will eventually be over.
As it beats, I think about time.
