Scissors

My heart it breaks-you turn away
No compassion, no love today
My tears fall- I see you look then turn away
Why no love, no hugs today?
I die inside- I try to hide- my family I cannot confide
You shout at me, then act so fine
Am I insane?
Have I lost my mind?
Why don't you love me- why do I stay?
The answers cannot be found today

I reach for the scissors, to ease the pain-
My trusted friend, their till my end
I watch the blood run from me slow, cuts on my legs and scars on my arms
He always says it's all in my head- don't self harm it's stupid and lame
Maybe one day the burning will end and too many times I've visit my friend
But till that day- I'll cry once more and lock me away behind a closed door.
